New Plaque & Scalloped Oval Cutters (and of course a give-away!) *Giveaway Closed*

9 May

We’ve had an unbelievable response from our square and rectangle fancy frame cutters and we’ve seen some AMAZING things done with them from so many people. So we came up with a couple of new shapes that hopefully will inspire as much creativity. Say hello to our new Plaque and Scalloped Oval cutters!

plaque_oval_cutters

Just as before, we wanted to just come up with a basic shape to use as a canvas, and let the creativity flow from there. Also, people have loved the frame cutters for message cookies! So once again, here are a couple of new shapes to allow you to write just about anything you want – or just decorate them up for whatever occasion you’re decorating for.

So here are just a few ideas I came up with (And, ok— Mike helped!) Can I just point out that the Summers family wasn’t really established in 2000? My head said “1996” and my hand said “2000”.  By the time my hand caught up with my brain, it was too late. Does that ever happen to you?  But anyway, I digress. I”m so excited to get these cutters out there and see what you uber-creative geniuses come up with!

These cutters are now available on Karen’s Cookies if you’d like to try them out! Click here to see them. We have the Plaque in large and small, and the Scalloped Oval in large and small. To save you some money on them we’ve got a 15% off coupon for you as well! Just type in may2013 in the coupon code box on the shopping cart page and the coupon will be applied.

Ok, so let’s give a few of these away shall we?

Reply to this post by the end of the weekend (By end of day Sunday, May 12th) and we’ll randomly draw 5 of you to win a complete set of these four new cutters (Plaque in two sizes, and the Scalloped Oval in two sizes).

Since it’s Mother’s Day weekend, go ahead and tell me what you love about your mom. I’ll go first– My mom is my number one fan. She has always encouraged me to grow my talents and go after my dreams, (even if they’re a little looney), and she always tells me how proud she is of me even if I don’t deserve it. Thank you, Mom. I love you!

Good Luck!

I have 2 moms, One who raised me, She is wonderful and I consider her my real mom. And the one who gave birth to me, she left me at 2 yrs old. I didn’t see again until I was 30, Both are in my lives now and I am so grateful. Thank you Karen for coming up with new ideas for us. Keeps us going when we hit a slump.

I love to bake and my mom taught me a lot of what I know. I love cutters, especially the ones that are a little different. Thanks for your contest.

My mom has always been there for me and best of all, has forgiven my antics during my younger years. She is elderly now but is still with it and is my biggest supporter!

  3. Anna May 9, 2013 at 5:22 pm #

My mom has always supported my “looney” ideas too (and I’ve been involved in WAY too many things to even count! — nothing illegal, though LOL)! She has always been there to listen no matter what’s going on in my or my sister’s and brother’s lives. She’s been that stability and rock when it seemed that things were way crazy.

  4. Alexis May 9, 2013 at 5:24 pm #

I Love your cookie cutters!!! I love my mom because she taught me how to bake 🙂

My mom passed away in 2001. It’s been 12 years now, but I miss her so much and still catch myself thinking, “I need to share that with Mom!” when something comes up.

I will comment about my FAVORITE mom, my mother in law. She encouraged me to be all I can be and it was her idea that got this company off the ground. She was an inspiration to me and I miss her every day. I can only imagine the ideas she would have for these new cutters!

My Mom isn’t around anymore. She passed away in 2006. But I loved her alot. I moved her in with us and was her caretaker for 3 years. She had it rough having lost my brother in 1983 and was never the same. It got worse in 1994 when my Dad passed. So being the only one left, I wasn’t going to let her down and put her in a home. Now I hope my kids love me just as much when that time comes. Guess that was a bit of a downer! Sorry! Mother’s Day always brings back those feelings!

  27. I miss my Mom so much – she passed away the week before Christmas and I don’t think I’ll ever be “over it”. She was my greatest cheerleader and religiously read my blog. She taught me how to love food and that it was ALWAYS important for your food to look as good as it tasted.

  28. Tricia May 9, 2013 at 5:36 pm #

I love that my mom thinks I am wonderful even though we are polar opposites. And that she will not eat my cookies – just keeps them on display because she can’t bear to eat my ‘art’ – ha!

My mom set the incredible example for me of believing that she can do anything she sets her mind to. I’ve never heard her say “oh, I could never do that!” so I don’t say it either. (unless we’re talking about something crazy like skydiving)

  33. Jessica Tipton May 9, 2013 at 5:38 pm #

Oh Karen, what a super sweet giveaway. It makes me sad to say that my mom passed away when I was 10 years old. I’ve been missing her for 38 Mothers’ Days. Sort of a bittersweet holiday for me each year, missing her but so very thankful for my three (grown) children. Life is short. Please hug your momma this weekend if you can. 70. Deeanne Litton May 9, 2013 at 6:03 pm #

My mom has been gone for 22 years. She died at the very early age of 61. Mom was the most fabulous hostess to many parties and gatherings.Dad was the men’s basketball coach at a small Texas college and the two of them made quite a team. There were always dinners, holiday events, and team celebrations in our home. Every Saturday night, my sister and I were required to help “set the formal table” for Sunday lunch. Mother always had us use the china, sterling silver, and her best crystal with formal linens. She used these sweet times to teach us about manners and the talents of being a good hostess. I have always treasured these memories, but even more priceless have been those “lessons” learned. I continue in her footsteps and enjoy playing hostess to entertain family and friends. Many of Mom’s “hostess specifics’ are ones I always rely on. The completion of any food served is the sweet last few bites with an exceptional cup of coffee! Cookies have played a starring roll in our family traditions. I regularly have batches of Christmas, birthday, baby shower, or event cookies in the making. My daughter’s wedding featured a table with our family traditional Christmas cookies! Mom would have been so thrilled! I cherish Mother more as the time goes by and continue to be grateful for the many treasured lessons I learned from her! I am excited to be soon using your new cutters

I lost my Mom a long time ago but one of the things she loved to do most was bake cookies at Christmas time. Every year she added a new recipe or two. The house smelled delicious from Thanksgiving onward. There were stacks of big tupperware containers and tins. She would make beautiful trays for everyone she and my Dad could think of. I had my favorites of course. Oddly, she stayed away from decorated cut out cookies (which I am addicted to making). We never got a chance to make cookies together ;( Karen, thanks so much for the new plaque cutters in 2 sizes! You can never be too thin, too rich or have too many plaque cutters!

My mom is fantastic: she is my number one fan and is always supportive, even when not even I believe in myself. She can give some harsh feedback but I know it’s always coming from a place of love. I know I can count on her when I need support, love, advice, and an honest word.
Now that I’m going to become a mom myself, I have been thinking a lot about what a role of a mother is. My mom has been a fantastic role model: loving, strong, intelligent, independent, and a survivor. I hope I will be as a great of a mom as she is. Happy mother’s day to all the cookie-loving moms out there!!

My mom always goes above and beyond. From helping me with college and student loans to watching my son full time when I went back to work for free. She supports me in everything I do, even when I’m wrong and we both know it.

  97. Sharon Storemski May 9, 2013 at 6:18 pm #

My mom “WAS” the best and she would be so proud of what I’m starting to do in the cookie business, the best part is I’m doing a lot of donating to cancer fund raisers and rescue groups so they can auction my cookies off and raise money/awareness… Thank you for offering the give away!

  98. Michelle Farrell May 9, 2013 at 6:19 pm #

My mom always has my back and lifts me up!! She loves my cookies and always does her best to spread the word to help my small

My mom and I stayed close no matteer where my husband and I moved, far or near. Being celiac I used to make her gluten free decorated cookies and sent them across the miles to here. When 6 years ago we moved back closer to home, I found a freezer full of cookies I had sent her, she just did not have the heart to break her daughters pretty cookies!! Ohh Mom! I miss her so much she passed away 4 years ago this late July. She taught me so many things in life. So many times even now I would love to pick up the phone and talk with her or better yet spend time again!

My mom passed away in 2002. She never saw my cookie decorating but I know she would have loved them. She was proud of everything I did. It was eleven years ago tonight, in fact that she had a stroke.

My mom passed away when I was five, so I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her. I do remember her baking cookies and I know she loved animals, especially horses. I love that she passed on her love of animals and baking cookies to me!

  110. Lil Morelli May 9, 2013 at 6:26 pm #

I love my Mom! Everyone always refers to her as “one tough cookie”. Her strong personality and determination got her through lots of trying times (she was one of 12 children, battled breast cancer, had to have knee replacement, etc…). As kids, she taught us to craft, cook and crochet. I inherited my artistic side from her, for sure! I am certain that she is looking down from heaven, smiling, because today I teach art to pre-k through 8th grade children. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of my Mom 🙂

  111. Beverly Stephens May 9, 2013 at 6:26 pm #

I love the new cutters! My mom is my hero. She is a breast cancer survivor, not once but twice! She’s never let it get her down. I’m very fortunate to have such an awesome mom!

  112. Nancy Driscoll May 9, 2013 at 6:27 pm #

My Mom was the one who got me interested in baking & cooking. Before she left for work she would write down the instructions & recipe for dinner that night. I had to follow and start dinner before my her & my Dad got home from work( even if that meant leaving my softball or basketball practice). My team-mates used to call me Betty Crocker !

  113. Marcie May 9, 2013 at 6:27 pm #

My mother taught me to cook and her love for baking will always be a fond memory. It didn’t stop there though, my grandmother also was a good cook. The best memories center around the kitchen and cooking with family.

  116. Norma May 9, 2013 at 6:30 pm #

I’ll have to talk about my step mom, as I didn’t get to know my real mom very well. My step mom has always been there for me and has always encouraged me to do my very best at whatever I attempted to do. She’s always laughing, smiling, and showing how much she cares. She had 6 kids of her own when she married my dad, but was so willing to include me and treat me as one of her own. She has always made me feel loved and part of her family. She’s very important to me and I have no problem calling her “mom”. I love her dearly. And if I win these cutters, she will be the first to receive cookies made from them!

  117. Alicia Cruz May 9, 2013 at 6:30 pm #

She’s someone I can always go to, to run crazy ideas passed and giving suggestions to make things better.

My mom is also my neighbor, I take care of her since she lost her leg due to diabetes in 2003 … she is 68 years old and inspires me daily… she didn’t give up, continues to be beautiful and is always thinking of ways to help when I need it… When I was young she was always there to pick me up when I was down and I love her very much! I couldn’t have asked for a better mother than her… God gave me to a wonderful lady! Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers and a little prayer to all the mom’s who have lost their children. May you find peace and comfort on days like this.

My mom loved to bake and that’s where I get my love of baking. My mom died 2-18-2011 and one if her things I was lucky to get was her rolling pin. I remember growing up and learning how to roll and cut out cookies using that rolling pin and her old metal cutters with handles on them.. My kids grew up looking forward to making Christmas cookies at grandmas house and I hope to teach my grand kids to do the same with that very same rolling pin.

I have the best Momma in the world!

My mother loved to cook and my mother-in-law loved to bake. Both pasted away years ago. I was very fortunate to get some of each of their kitchen things. Everytime I use them, I can picture them sitting on a chair in the kitchen, telling me stories about their mothers and what things they loved doing with them. I did the same thing with my daughter and now I am teaching my granddaughters how to cook and bake. I now know why they loved the kitchen so much. It brings everyone close. It is the heart of the house.
    Happy Mothers Day 🙂

My mom is also one of my biggest fans. She still oohs and ahhs about every cookie set I make. When I started my business 3 years ago, she wanted to contribute so she bought me a KopyKake – how could you NOT love her?!? 🙂

I love my Mom. She has always been there to encourage me in whatever I chose to pursue. I’m the oldest of four. We are all adults now, but we are still her babies no matter what age.

  210. Cheryl Foley May 9, 2013 at 8:09 pm #

My mum was the one that inspired me to get into creating cakes.. I remember my mum making our birthday cakes as kids so my first ever 3D cake was for her birthday and it was a re-creation of her caravan..

  211. Kathy Roberts May 9, 2013 at 8:10 pm #

My mom always baked especially during Christmas. We use to spend days baking 30+ dozen cookies. I continued the tradition long after she went to heaven (she was such a loving, christian woman). I now have a daughter that bakes cakes as a side business. This year I’m spending mothers day with her ( a first since she left the home 13 years ago & joined the army) and get to bake for her 6 kids during my visit. Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there.

  212. Mari J May 9, 2013 at 8:13 pm #

My mother is always there for me. I have been through a lot and she has always been by my side.

  213. Jennifer Herron May 9, 2013 at 8:20 pm #

My mom is the strongest lady I know. She lost her husband, both of her parents and her home to a fire all in a 10 year time span 😦 She keeps a smile on her face every day regardless of the circumstances 🙂 She is an inspiration. She watches my little one while I grow my cookie business and I just cannot imagine a day without talking to her. I celebrate her not just on Mother’s Day, but every day!!

  214. Michelle May 9, 2013 at 8:21 pm #

I love the smell of my mom when I hug her, the smell of her food when she’s cooking, and her amazing advice she’s given me through out my life. I love my mommy! 🙂

My love of crafting a baking came from my Mom. She was always baking something delicious in her kitchen or working on a craft project. We would make some things together. Thank you Mom for all the fun times we had, that I continue on to this day!

  217. Adrienne May 9, 2013 at 8:23 pm #

There are so many things I love about my Mom, she is my best friend, an amazing Mom, a wonderful Nanny to her 7 grandchildren, a loving wife to my Step-dad & the most superb cook there is! She is always willing to help anyone, even complete strangers. She has instilled all of these qualities in me and I am carrying them on to my daughter. I would love to win and share these with my Mom and daughter and make some yummy cookies! Thanks!

  221. Inez May 9, 2013 at 8:29 pm #

What I remember most about my MoM was her sense of humor. She would laugh hardest at herself! Her courage, she came to this country not really knowing the language. She made a wonderful, loving home in the US without having any of her family here! Miss her every day! Please hug your mothers for me!

  222. kdpartak May 9, 2013 at 8:33 pm #

From Mason (9): My mom does so much for me. I’m a kid cook who does live cooking demos and You Tube videos. My mom helps me develop recipes, takes me to tv appearances, and so much more. She and I have so much fun in the kitchen, she’s the best. You should go to my website, I have a give away on now, too! http://www.masonpartak.com

My Mother passed away 10 yrs ago. She taught me to sew when I was 5 and by 8 yrs old, I was wearing the Dresses I made. She was my inspiration for going to Culinary School. I had a lot more knowledge that others in my class – with her as a cheerleader, I graduated with 4.0. Miss you Mom!

My mom is 80 this year! she thinks im perfect even though i know im not!! love you Mom!!
acttually when i was growing up I was the cookie baker in my family. The most memorable ones were the snicker doodles that I put two tablespoons of cream of tarter instead of teaspoons… My dad just reminded me of those the other day even though Ia made them 50 years ago… Haha! I love cookie cutters and Karen’s cookies 🙂

My Mom was Japanese and when my father, an American soldier, died when I was three, she remained in the U.S. so I could grow up an American. She never remarried and devoted her life to raising me. She passed away in 1991 at the age of 70. She was such a brave woman. Enjoy the time you have with your Moms! They won’t always be here. Thanks for the giveaway!

When my husband was sick, my Mom and Dad moved from out of state to be near us. She watched the kids while we went to doctor appointments and had dinner ready when we were done. She’s teaching my daughter to quilt and always goes to the kids’ programs, whether it is sports, music, or school. I love you Mom ❤

  237. Rachel floyd May 9, 2013 at 9:12 pm #

Of course I love my mom but the most generous and sacrificial thing she has ever done for me was to literally put her life on hold, moved to Wisconsin, and spent seven months at Children’s hospital by my side as my 3 month old son went through chemo and a bone marrow transplant. Couldn’t have survived without her! ( my son is now 12 and very healthy!)

  238. VICKI MCCANDLESS May 9, 2013 at 9:19 pm #

My grandma raised me and it’s from her I got my love of cooking. She was a “dumper” never used a recipe in her life.I am much like that too.She made bread almost daily and her pie..well it was to die for!
I have made and sold cookie over the years. One time for an event my son was holding I had decorated over 500 cookies .I have a huge collection on cutters..but there is all ways room for more.
    Happy Mother’s Day to All…

The best thing about my mother for which I am immensely thankful to her is that she took the pain to give birth to me.

  248. Marie Cosentino May 9, 2013 at 10:06 pm #

I love my my mum because she made
me the person I am today, she taught
me to cook Italian dishes and always encouraged me to bake cakes and biscuits.
Now that I have 2 small children I enjoy to bake and see their little faces light up, just as I did when I was young. We still make home
made pasta together to this day. My mum is my best friend…

  249. Julie Hyde May 9, 2013 at 10:07 pm #

I am currently putting together a cookbook of all my mother’s recipes. She is a legend in the small town of Homedale, Idaho. My mom is now 82 years old and I am with her and my dad as much as I can be, but living six hours away from them limits me. I made bread for her earlier this week and she still has to come and “test the dough” to make sure it is at the “just right” consistency. I love her and she inspires me as she slowly loses her mobility and vision, she still does crosswords and sudoku puzzles to keep her mind alert. And the latest thing is she is giving away all of her fabric as she cannot see well enough to sew. She has made hundreds of quilts over the years for her family, humanitarian efforts, fundraisers and wedding gifts. Now, she is passing on the material to others who are still making quilts. My mom is my hero, teacher, mentor, partner in crime and the greatest example of service I know. I wish you could all spend an afternoon with her – you would all love her! I love my mom.

  250. Maggie Ybarra May 9, 2013 at 10:19 pm #

Love my mom! I love her for all the wonderful things she has done for me over the years. When I was in third grade, I won the Mother’s Day essay contest at school. I was told that I won because I wrote about all the wonderful things that my mom does for me and not the things that she buys for me. I think this proves that she is a loving and thoughtful mom, who always puts everyone else before herself. : )

  251. Mike @ Semi Sweet May 9, 2013 at 10:32 pm #

My mom is always supportive no matter what goal we (me and my siblings) set for ourselves. She is loving and always got us out of tough jams when needed. 🙂

  252. NikkiK May 9, 2013 at 10:32 pm #

My mom is my best friend. She has always given me advice throughout my life & stood by me even when I didn’t take that advice. Letting me make mistakes and learn how to overcome them has taught me so many life skills. I’m a better person because of her guidance and love. Happy mother’s day to all the mothers out there!

  253. Karen Hughes May 9, 2013 at 10:32 pm #

I love these cutters. I am just starting out learning to decorate cookies. (Mine have been naked for years;-). Your site has been a great resource for ideas and techniques! Thanks for all the tips!

  254. Sheree May May 9, 2013 at 10:45 pm #

Like some of the others, my mom has passed. She always gave of herself and centered her efforts on family. But I still see her smiling eyes, and can hear her tell me “just brush your hair, put on some lipstick, get out in the sunshine, and you’ll feel better” when I was feeling low. She was right. I pass on as much of her sweet wisdom and humor to my daughters as I possibly can. Will always miss her.

  255. Angel Guzzardo May 9, 2013 at 10:46 pm #

So happy I found out about your site! Just purchased my first cutters from you and are in the process of decorating cookies that I baked using them! I WILL be ordering more!

  256. Claudia Rivera May 9, 2013 at 10:48 pm #

Unfortunately, I do not have anything positive to say about the woman that gave birth to me. She is the complete opposite to your mom. You are very lucky and blessed to have a mother who loves you unconditionally. Happy Mother’s Day!

  257. beth robinson May 9, 2013 at 10:50 pm #

Miss my mother, She passed away when I was only 10. She always loved me unconditionally. The best was that we slept together, my father had passed away when I was 2 and with 4 children in the house (tiny) there was no room for me so I always slept in their room and once out of the crib slept with her. Can’t wait to see her again one day in heaven 🙂 the ironic thing is she passed away on Mother’s Day 44 yrs ago at the age of 44 😦

  258. Miss Overballe May 9, 2013 at 11:05 pm #

My mother is amazing, she has spend her entire working life trying to make the World a better place 🙂

My mom has inspired me with her creativity since I was a young child. Growing up I remember watching her embroider, sew clothes for my siblings and myself, cross stitch and refinish furniture. No project ever seemed too big or small. She encourages me, supports me in all I do. I love you mom! mom Happy Mother’s Day!

My Mom is by far my rock. We may not always see eye to eye on certain things, but then again, apples don’t fall far from the tree! Our family has faced many challenges throughout her life, and even in our darkest hours, she has been the glue that held everyone else together. This Mother’s Day, I salute not only my own Mother, but all those other Moms out there making a difference every day. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! Love you so much…I truly don’t know what I’d do without you.

This will be my third Mothers Day without my mom and I miss her especially as I’m meeting what would have been her very first great grandchild. She was always all about family. Family first … and last. I love that lesson she instilled in me.

Mom taught me my love of most things and how to love people, (just not what they always do) My love of baking has been instilled from a very young age, we always worked together in the kitchen, we both have a love of cookie cutters. LOL And now that we live with mom again it would be lovely to bake together again, when she is up to it. Until then I will bake and let her enjoy.

My mom is the best cooking, awe-inspiring, most fun-having, coolest biker bitch that I have ever known. She supports my life and what I do and doesn’t make me apologize for it. Without her I wouldn’t be where I am today!

An Adult Orphan…..That’s how I and a lot of my friends, (The Senior Brigade 65 & Over) feel about losing our Moms. My Mom would be astonished to know how our world has changed for the good and not surprisingly some bad. Modern medicine is keeping us healthier, and we are sharing more with others. I still tell my Mom about the amazing way God has provided for all just as she told me when I was younger. Your Mom listens and loves to here how you’re doing, so tell this Mother’s Day !!! God Bless All Mothers.

  297. Rachel May 10, 2013 at 4:27 am #

My mom is always encouraging me! She is my number one cheerleader, and is always there for me. She was in a serious accident almost two years ago, and we nearly lost her. She is a fighter though, and is doing great. I am so glad . . . I don’t know what I would do without her.

  298. Kelly May 10, 2013 at 4:28 am #

I don’t have a relationship with my mother but my grandmother was the most fantastic woman I have ever known! She taught me to be kind and forgiving of people and to laugh every day – she was always laughing and happy. She is gone now and I miss her tremendously. These cookie cutters are wonderful and I would love to add them to my collection 🙂

  299. Sherie Wilcox May 10, 2013 at 4:30 am #

I love that my mom can do ANYTHING. From keeping bees to making her own maple syrup, and literally, everything in between, she can do it. What an inspiration…. My dad, well, not so much–I guess that’s why he married her. 🙂

  300. Michelle May 10, 2013 at 4:33 am #

My Mom has always taught me to be better than I think I can. I think she’s the best because she’s also taught me how to pass along traditions to my kids (no matter how hokey I thought they were growing up!). Therefore, my kids get X and O shaped bacon on Valentine’s Day with pink milk & pink buttered toast; the Leprechaun wreaks havoc at St. Patrick’s Day; they get to bang on pots & pans at midnight on New Year’s; etc… But the best tradition of all? Passing along her cookie recipes!

My mom is amazing… she’s one of my best friends in the whole world and I can tell her anything without fear of judgement or {disapproval- for the most part}. She’s so encouraging and has always been there for me no matter what. And not only all that, but I think she’s part super-woman; she’s always been a great mother while maintaining a full-time job and basically a full-time job at home, and let’s face it, that’s really tough and not fair to the women out there! But she’s done it all along!

  303. Shannan Selsor May 10, 2013 at 4:39 am #

Love, love, love these cutters! My mom has become one of my dearest friends. I love that we can have a great time, and great conversation doing the everyday things like cooking dinner or doing dishes. She’s also my biggest fan. She always believes in me even when I don’t always believe in myself.

My mom died suddenly at age 52, but she was a wonderful mom. She was always there for us and loved to make special days even more special. It’s been many years, now, but I will always miss her terribly.

  305. Dale Sullivan May 10, 2013 at 4:42 am #

I lost my Mom when I was a teenager, but because of her great influence that has only strengthened me and inspired me to be more like her. As I turn 60 next week, the importance of the small things– mailing a card to say you’re thinking of someone, Skyping with my out of state grand baby, even making just the right cookie with just the right cookie cutter — are all ways she showed how to selflessly make life better for others. I still love you, Mom! Happy Mothers Day to anyone who cares for others, whether they’ve given birth or not.

  306. Jan May 10, 2013 at 4:46 am #

I got my love of cooking from my mom! She was an excellent cook but not lives in a nursing home! The cutters are gret and would love to have them for my collection!

My mom is always there for you, she always gives her all to help someone and is beyond generous. She is extremely supportive of me and my desire to decorate cakes and cookies by teaching myswelf. I love my mom!

  310. hpotter May 10, 2013 at 5:04 am #

My grandma was the best. She never had to give me any toys or take me places to let me know how special I was. We spent alot of time in the kitchen around the dinning room table together making dinner, supper, cookies, sewing, looking at pictures, playing cards. There is a every cute picture of me around 3yrs old stand on a chair helping Grandma make cookies after she had curled my hair. From the grin on our faces it is clear that we were having fun. She was a farmers wife and a Mother of 9 and a Grandmother of 25, each and everyone of us held a special place in her heart. Her door was always open and everyone was welcome. Love ya Grandma!

My Mom was a very strong woman but in a silent way. She managed to raise four children when her husband died in their early fifties and then again when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 80 and lived until 85 with this horrible disease. She showed me that you have the strength to do and survive anything and that family is always important.

I love my Mom because she is the person that I admire and respect the most in the whole world. A woman of strength and integrity!

I am so glad I found your website and blog. I am just starting with decorating cookies, and I have a looooong way to go. My cookies aren’t sharp like yours, my icing fades and doesn’t stay shiny, but I am learning and it’s so much fun. My mom passed away in Feb. so this is the first one without her, so it will be strange. She was a strong woman and taught us a lot.

My mom was in the hospital for 2 weeks recently and I was by her side most of the time. She is doing a little better now, it was so nice being able to do for her for a change helping her up making her comfortable, getting her throw up container, etc. All the things she did for me when I was growing up. She is the best mom ever.

  319. Glennda Elliott May 10, 2013 at 5:51 am #

My mom is 94 yrs old, still lives independently and is still in charge! she has lived as a widow for 38 yrs and taken care of all her life until just recently. What a great role model for me, my daughter and my granddaughters. I enjoy doing things for her and often make cookies for her little church groups. She still sings in our church choir and seldom misses a practice or a Sunday morning with her friends.

My MOM means the world to me as she has always been there for me no matter what I have done in life….she has supported me 100% and constantly (to this day) gives me confidence when I am unsure of things. Not only is it Mother’s Day weekend but it is also my Mom’s 70th Birthday. 🙂

  321. Joanne Toland May 10, 2013 at 5:58 am #

I made cut out cookies with my mom for years. She has passed on now to a better place and now my daughters and grand kids always get together to bake and decorate for all occasions. Love your cut out designs.

My mom is inspirational, really!! She had never worked and was brave enough to walk away from an unhealthy marriage and step into the working world after a nasty divorce and raise 5 rambunctious boys and 4 no-it-all girls all on her own. My brothers and sisters are all so thankful to have a mother that is so loving, spiritual and dedicated to her family. She is my inspiration.

I am blessed with a mom who is supportive and always there for me. She will always be my mom, but now since we are both adults, we are now ‘friends’ too. It’s great to have both and I know how truly blessed I am!

My mom…. has helped me in so many ways that I cannot put it into words. She has been a support system for me when I was going back to school, when I was a single mom she helped me with my lil guy in whatever way that she could. She has shown me how to be a Godly lady and what unconditional love is.

I cant imagine my life without my mom. She may seem serious for other people, but I know how caring and loving she is. Her name’s Mara, she became a mother almost 18 years ago (obviously my age) and I always try to make Mothers Day perfect for her, once she’s the most perfect and beautiful woman I know.

Karen, I am so glad I found your site several years ago! I have never been disappointed with anything I’ve purchased, and I love the packaging and the quick delivery. You guys are awesome!
I started decorating cookies about 5 years ago, and my mom is one of my biggest fans. She always encourages me and brags to her friends on Facebook. I may be 44 years old, but she’s still “hanging my artwork on the fridge”. I love her and am so grateful to have her in my life.

Hi Karen, love the new cutters and I can’t wait to get a set! My mom is so wonderful!. She’s a great encourager! Even when I have baking disasters, she will never agree how bad it is and always push me to try again and even be my guinea pig on all my culinary creations. She’s a fabulous and creative person with a wonderful since of design! I have always wanted to grow up and be just like her! I can’t fill those shoes, but I can admit I come a little bit close and she is so proud of me. She’s a super grandmother/great grandmother as well. I thank God daily for chosing her as my mom. Happy Mother’s Day Karen! Many Blessings!

My Mom has passed. She was our strength, family was her main specialty and she held us all together. We honor her by always being there for each other. Laugh at our memories of her and thus always keeping her in our lives. Also striving to be as great as her as we can.

  353. Shirley May 10, 2013 at 8:42 am #

I just love those cutters, I can only think of the many beautiful things to make with them. You are right, let’s just allow the imagination fly! I love my mum so much even when she is no longer with us. She was not a baker, but she always made sure we had the most delicious cakes for our birthdays. She would be so proud to know I love baking and would have engulfed anything I made. Memories are with me everyday, and more than once I think to myself: “I hope she is proud to see me performing the role of mother and housewife the way she once dreamed!” Happy Mothers Day to all of you ladies out there!

My mom was my best friend. She became a widow at age 36 when my dad died, I was 11 and my brother only 5. Dad left a lot of debt when he died. Mom had very little education so getting a job was difficult in Malaysia in the 70s. She managed to learn to trade stocks without any capital and by the time she passed away in 2005, she was worth over a million dollars. I really admired my mom’s business acumen and the decisions she had to make to ensure that her children was well taken care of and provided the best she could. I missed her so much, it doesn’t get any better but I know one day I will see her again in heaven. My passion in baking comes from her. I love you mom!

My mom is my grandmother 🙂 My grandmother raised me since I was 2 months old and means the world to me. Mother’s Day is bitter sweet because my grandmother is no longer here in the flesh but in heaven. She passed away at home in 2004 at 99 1/2 years young 🙂 All of my memories of my grandmother are beautiful! When I shed a tear for her is because the memories are so sweet and they lift me up. I remember her teaching me to cook, pretend playing with me ( we had lots of tea parties but with real cookies), she would stay with me until I would fall asleep because I was afraid of the dark. For most of my young life I slept with her. Even as a teenager I would wake up in the middle of the night and go into her room and lay down beside her. Not once did she ever push me away or tell me that I needed to grow up and sleep alone. Although I had a relationship with my mother we had lots of ups and downs. I still love my mom but it is one of those relationships you have to keep at a distance so it won’t be toxic to your life. I also want to say that there are many men out there who are single dads who are amazing fathers and mothers. God Bless moms here and in heaven 🙂

My Mom died when I was just 12, but she taught me to follow my dreams. With three kids and a husband in the military, she pursued her dream and was almost finished with medical school when she was killed in a car accident. I still miss her every day and wonder what Mother’s Days would be like if she were still here. Heaven is all the brighter with her there, I am sure! Love the cookie cutters, by the way. I can imagine the possibilities….

I’m so blessed to have a great mom. She has always worked so hard and been there for all the family. Her love of baking has inspired mine. Unfortunately she’s now 76 and suffers from Parkinson’s so she doesn’t do it anymore. However she loves the cookies that I make and gets so excited to see what they look like. I’m working on some new ones for Mother’s Day now.

My mom passed away about 5 yrs ago, but what I loved most about her was her laugh…esp when it was spontaneous! She also had the ability to help soothe & calm things down for me when things in life got hard to deal with…all without even knowing it. Being around her always helped me to put things in perspective & realize that things could really get worse. Love & miss her dearly.

My mother is full of love for me since day one. She is also my close friend. I know it’s luck who you get for your parent, and I am both lucky and blessed. My mother taught me to bake, we sculpted cakes and baked cookies and tarts when I was a teenager. Now I make most of the cookies, but I always wrap some extras for her to share. And she still complains that she shouldn’t eat them because they are fattening, but she eats and enjoys them anyway. Even at 79, my mother is still fun and I am proud to be her daughter. Happy Mother’s Day!

My Mom passed away 25 years ago, she was the best. Then I met my husband and his mom became not just my Mother-in-law, but one of my dearest friends. She is my Mom now. I love her dearly.

I lost my mom 3 months before my first child was born. I miss her still–almost 18 years later. I hear her in my laugh and remember what a joyful and loving mom she was.

Hi there, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there, myself included! ;). I’m a mom to two boys, cj & ryan. My mom passed away in ’99…too young, too soon. My other mom, who was my aunt, passed away a year and a half ago….she pretty much was our everything when my folks divorced. So, the only mom figure left in my life is my mother in law whom I love dearly. I’ve been a baker for most of my life… Just love to create new designs and ideas in my creations. I use cookie cutters in my cake decorating. It’s always great to experiment with new designs! Thank you for giving people like me a chance to use our imaginations with your cutters! Dianne. 😉

My mother never thought I never paid much attention to her when she was in the kitchen. Now days she has been able to see just how much I learned from her and thanks to Karen Cookies and another great blogger I have been showing off my passion for baking and decorating sugar cookies 🙂 super excited about about all the possibilities. Jenny

My Mom always made me laugh. She had a sense of humor that was way over the top! She passed away in 2002. I miss her so much!! She always was so proud of all my baking. She would say,”how in the world can you bake and decorate like you do? You are nuts!” Love you Mom! Miss you so!!

  411. Linda Legasse May 11, 2013 at 8:00 am #

My mom is actually my sister. I didn’t have much of a mother figure in my younger years. I remember my sister doing our hair for school pictures. Making sure we brushed our teeth and were clean when we left for school. I love her dearly and in my heart and mind she is my mom as well as my sister and my friend. And on Mother’s Day I make sure I remember her.

  412. Becky Havill May 11, 2013 at 8:20 am #

I use the other plaque cutters from your store so often. I’d love to add these to my collection.

  413. Pam Owens May 11, 2013 at 8:39 am #

My Mom has always been there for me. When times are good she shares my joy, when times are bad she is a foundation that keeps me grounded and focused on what’s most important.

  414. marialina May 11, 2013 at 8:59 am #

I love all the different collections of cookie cutters you offer. I’ll have to get another box to add these to my collections.

  415. Leslie S. May 11, 2013 at 9:03 am #

My Mom is always in touch with the latest news: national, local and family news. She has always been one to ask the big questions and to care about the world, our culture, far beyond just the here and now. She is always supportive of her family’s adventures, she stood by me through thick and thin – what more could one ask of a Mother? Happy Mother’s Day to ALL Mothers, and to My Mom:)

  416. nola55 May 11, 2013 at 9:21 am #

  431. Stacie Suedkamp May 11, 2013 at 6:42 pm #

What I love most about my Mom? She’s always ready to have a good time, she’ll try anything and she loves and encourages me more than anyone I know. She also drives me nuts – but I make her crazy too – so I think we’re both even on that front! Love you Mom!

  439. DawnD May 12, 2013 at 6:10 am #

    These are really cool!
Lightly speaking, my Mom and I unfortunately don’t get along well. :/ But, God sent me a blessing when he gave me a Mother-Inlaw! She has always been there for me through tough times, she helps with my children and spoils them and me rotten! My favorite thing though would have to be how well she listens to me and her hugs, best ever! Thank you for this opportunity! 🙂

  440. Barb D May 12, 2013 at 8:52 am #

I love these cutters. Thank you for all the ideas. Wishing all Moms a Happy Mother’s Day!

  445. Dawn May 12, 2013 at 12:36 pm #

My mom was taken from me when I was just 16 years old, but I know that she has been watching me from heaven and is probably pretty pleased with how I (and my 2 sisters and brother) turned out. As a mom myself, I look forward to sharing many more years with my children than I had with my mom, and a big part of our time together is baking goodies. My daughter (and son for that matter) really enjoy our cookie baking weekends and these new cutters would be a perfect addition to our ever growing collection. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, and thanks, Karen, for your inspiring videos and tips!

  446. glenda May 12, 2013 at 2:06 pm #

My mom passed away 6 years ago and I still miss her terribly! She is the one who inspired me to cook and to enjoy my time in the kitchen! I am planning on passing this on to my granddaughter who is 2. Happy Mother’s Day to all!!

  447. Rhonda Frieden May 12, 2013 at 3:11 pm #

My mom taught me many craft skills starting when I was young. One thing she didn’t really do much was decorate sugar cookies. Even so, I credit my attention to detail and love of baking and decorating sugar cookies to her. She taught me the diligence and patience with other crafts which one needs to decorate sugar cookies.

  448. Mandy May 12, 2013 at 3:19 pm #

I got my crafting ability from my mom 🙂

  449. Mindy May 12, 2013 at 3:48 pm #

  451. djrupinski May 12, 2013 at 4:30 pm #

My mom is…..or was……an amazing woman. She passed away two weeks ago. She was more than my mom. She was my best friend. Her life was spent caring for others. As a young girl she was a surrogate mother to her siblings. As a nurse she cared for patients like family. As a mother she was exceptional. She offered me guidance, protected me, was my biggest cheer leader and greatest fan, taught me compassion, showered me with love, was my best friend and confidant, and taught me how to be a good mother. Every person who knew her has a story to tell about how special and loved she made them feel. It is an honor to call her my mom.

  452. hmschinetsky May 12, 2013 at 4:43 pm #

I love my mom with all my heart! I never knew how much I appreciated her until I got married and realized how much she had taught me about being a good wife. This Mother’s Day is even more special. We just told her that’s we’re expecting her first grandchild in December! I just hope that I can be half the mom she is!

  453. Cathy Lake May 12, 2013 at 4:58 pm #

I love the new cutters and would love to win them.

My mom is an inspiration. She is 78 years old and does yoga and aerobics classes almost everyday. What’s more, she is always trying new things – learning Italian, quilting, knitting, and now upholstery! What an excellent example she sets for her children and grandchildren.

  454. rosa May 12, 2013 at 5:06 pm #

My mom always told cheered me when I started anything new, and never had any doubts that I could achieve anything I wanted in life even if I seriously questioned it

  455. Amanda L. May 12, 2013 at 6:13 pm #

The thing I love most about my mom is hearing her voice come out of my mouth!! Now that she has passed on, it’s a joy to see her when I look in the mirror and flex my voice just so. 🙂

  456. mlhoffman May 12, 2013 at 6:15 pm #

My mom left when we were both way too young – what I always knew and felt about my mom was that when I was with her I was safe – and that’s what I most remember the last time I saw her. Gone for nearly 30 years now I realized as a young child that getting her undivided attention as the youngest of 8 siblings was often hard to come by. But I could get it when I helped out in the kitchen, and by far, my best memories still are the times I spent with her there – baking and canning… I can still smell the warmth and love she brought to everything we baked and every meal she made. I’m closest to her when I’m in the kitchen and will always feel a bit cheated for not having had more time …

My mom is the best! she is always supporting every thing i do… and she has been a great rolemodel of mother, woman and friend! i love her very very much 🙂

  464. Definitely consider that which you stated. Your favorite
reason seemed to be on the net the easiest thing to
take note of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while folks consider concerns that they just don’t recognise about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and defined out the entire thing without having side-effects
, people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.
    Thank you
