Are more babies born in the spring? That is the question of the day. Two of my four were born in the spring. The other two were born in the winter. So from my experience, it’s half and half, but we sure sell more baby cookie cutters in the spring than we do in the winter. Maybe it’s just because we get more excited about throwing showers and parties in the spring and summer than we do in the winter with all the other holidays. Maybe we just get in party overload mode in the winter.
Well, whatever the reason, ’tis the season for baby cookies! (I’m thinking spring because we got MORE snow last night. Sigh.)
Have you noticed that I’ve been using a lot of Wilton cookie cutter sets for my blog posts? I carry a lot of their cutter sets in my store, and I’ve been meaning to get some example pictures up for them for a long time. So I grabbed a big stack of sets and got to baking. That’s why you’re seeing a pattern. 🙂 These baby cookies were made with the Wilton Baby Cookie Cutter Set:
They were fun! I’ll start with my least favorite first. The rocking horses. Sometimes I can do them, and sometimes I can’t. This decorating session turned out to be a “not-as-cute” day.
I don’t know. Do you put faces on rocking horses? And if so, how? Maybe I’m just not a horse person.
Next are the baby buggies.
And the teddy bears:
So the question here: How far apart do you put the eyes? I wasn’t sure, so I did 3 different distances. (By the way, I used black sugar pearls for the eyes on these. I really like using those for eyes.) I think I liked the blue one the best. Not too close, not too far apart.
And last, but not least, the onesies:
Awww. 🙂 Baby stuff is just so cute and fun. We have a onesie cookie decorating card if you’re interested in more info on how to do some cute piped embellishments for onesies.
So we have the pink group:
The blue group:
And a mixed-color group:

Thanks for reading! Now I’d better get in the kitchen and work on some St. Patrick’s Day cookies! That’s sneaking up on me!
Karen,
These are cute…I like the blue bears eye’s the best too! How about using the Wilton flower cookie cutters…I just got them and backed a nice batch…but haven’t frosted them yet…waiting until May Day!
LOVE your website! These baby cookies are so cute! Cookie making is my hobby that I enjoy with my two daughters- thanks for great inspiration!
So adorable! I think cookies onsies are the cutest since there are so many options on how to decorate them. It would be so great to win these as I don’t have a “baby set” yet as I build my cookie cutter collection.
Adorable! I love the white and pastels – it makes me feel like it’s already spring! Thanks again for the great ideas, Karen.
Those are so cute! I think I like the pink bear’s eyes the best.
These are about the cutest cookies ever. I checked out all three of the teddy bear cookies and they’re all adorable. I would love to win the baby cutter sets and instructions.
It seems like all my friends are having babies right now, or are due to have them and I have been wanting to make them something special. These are so cute and would make the perfect gift! Thanks for the great ideas 🙂
Those are so fun! I love how the cookie cutters come in baby colors! And your cookie card looks really helpful (and cute!) Thank you!
I love this set! I also agree on the blue bear’s eyes 🙂
Way too cute. The onesies have always been a favorite of mine.
We have an April and a July baby, but everyone else is Sept. (due this year), Oct., Nov., and Jan. So, mostly fall/winter babies here (dh is Nov., and I’m Dec.).
omg… you’re not only a baker, you’re an artist!
Thank you for the inspiration.
Yay! What fun cookies – so cute as usual, Karen! Would love to win (who wouldn’t, righ?) 🙂 I hope spring comes soon, too!
Love the way the cookies were decorated. I have lots of babies being born in my family this year so this set would come in handy!
Funny thing, I was just thinking that I need to make some baby cookies for my boss’ first child that is due in May. Would love a set of cutters with instruction cards (which I will probably need). I just ordered the cookie gift box for the upcoming cookies lol.
thanks for everything you do Karen and Mike
Love your baby cookies! my fav is the bear, he’s so adorable!
Those cookies are TOO cute! I want to make some. I think the eyes on the blue teddy looks best also. With 22+ grandkids I could bake baby cookies for a long, long time. Thank you for the give-away!!! : )
I love the teddy bears!
Adorable as always….it makes me want to go make some cookies! I have one child born in March and one in July. It does seem that the spring is the busiest for B-day Party invites for our kids…. I know if I were to plan it I would rather be big and fat in the winter than in the summer…LOL!
Oh!! yes!! these cookies are really lovely. They are sweet and look delicious but I think that I couldn’t eat them… they look so pretty…
Lola

These are some great cookies Karen. And I love the thickness of them. Are you using one of the recipes from your site? If so which one? Would love to win these!!!
Too cute! 🙂
No one understands the joy of baking like a baker does. As always, your cookie decorating is amazing! God has given you such wonderful talent and thank you so very much for sharing with us. If I had these cookie cutters, I would make cookies for all the ladies I know who are getting ready to have babies (many in our church…can’t drink the water there anymore!) I’d also do a round for the grandparents (Suzanne T’s idea). I’d love to win these so I can share with others….of course, I always have to do a taste test just to be on the safe side!!!
Beijos Adelaide
LOVE your teddy bears! They are adorable!
Makes me want to have another baby…well, almost! ;o)
I have two nieces who are currently expecting, these sure would make cute cookies for their showers!!
Adorable baby cookies. I’m with you on the eyes- blue bear looks “just right”!
So cute Karen. Last year I bought you this Wilton set and it is really amazing! Anyway, your ideas of decorating are wonderful! I would like to participate in the giveaway to give it as a present to a friend who loves to decorate too…
Hey – the rocking horses look just fine to me! If only I was set up here to make cookies all day! How can your family keep up with eating all those cookies???
Soooooo cute Karen!! Love your blog (and your store) =)
Karen, if I could make rocking horses that look nearly as good as yours I’d be thrilled. Beautiful work. I love your blog. Lots of inspiration for wonderful cookie projects.

Those are just too cute for words….I have a sister-in-law who is expecting and several other friends due soon, so these cutters would be put to good use. I am new to the whole “cookie” world, just learning and your site helps so very much. I do the corn syrup glaze, love the taste and look, but having trouble with the detailing. I keep hearing practice practice practice…but I am not sure how many cookies my family, friends and co-workers are willing to eat LOL!
I didn’t know black pearls existed! Love them, must order…the cookies are fabulous…love the teddies! Thanks for the chance to win!
Pleasantly,
Paula

Oh wow! These are cute! Thanks for the ideas, I’ve been wanting to make some baby cookies for a friend who just gave birth. Just a question, though…the cute duck, dragonfly and flower icing on the onesies, were they piped or pre-made? If so, where can I get those? Thanks!

Canary Islands.
Karen-I thought the horses looked great! In my dreams could I make cookies look like that. My favorites were the buggies, but that’s probably because I am definitely a polka-dot and stripes kinda gal. Makes me feel like throwing a shower!
I have just gotten into decorating cookies…because I am a new grandma!! Bailey was born 4 weeks ago and she is adorable. I made the onesie cookies for the shower before she was born and have added the baby bottle to my small collection. I just made some cookies for a friend’s baby shower. How wonderful to have the baby buggy as well.
